History

Animal Help Foundation was initially founded and established in 2001 in Ahmedabad as a small, animal rescue organization. Over the years, it has worked on many different projects, ranging from the stray dogs issue to wildlife and human-animal conflicts. Past programs include:

  • Help the Birds’ campaign (2002 – 2007). Since then, it has spread across the country saving and helping thousands of birds during the kite flying festival and year round. During the campaigns, AHF contributed towards saving several endangered vultures and gave them to a captive breeding facility in Pinjore in collaboration with the Gujarat Forest Department
  • Year 2005 : Started Animal Birth Control (small scale),Sick animal Rescue Service, Bird Hospital, Primates Hospital (shifted to Gyaspur)
  • Year 2006 : Animal Birth Control, Reptile rescue service
  • Year 2007 : Bird hospital, Sick animal rescue
  • Year 2008-09 : Animal Birth Control in Ahmedabad, treating cows at Panjrapole
  • Year 2010-11 : Rescued Farm Animal Sanctuary
  • Year 2012-17 : Animal Birth Control Program and Farm Animal Sanctuary

In recent years however, the organization has concentrated its efforts on two main projects: “5 Acres of Kindness”, which is a Farm Animal Sanctuary that serves as an Education Center for children, and the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Program for stray dogs, which is conducted under MOU with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) since 2012.
